Sometimes funny is all I have (1)

At some lecture or other the DS had reason to ask if anyone had ever suffered from Carbon Monoxide poisoning. Mick Short decided he had. 'What were the effects you experienced?' asked the DS. 'I had a headache which would have killed a crap hat' was the reply.

One day the DS were getting us to practice anti vehicle ambush drills. On the drill square, with no vehicles, no weapons. (piss poor planning by the DS as usual). They insisted we improvise. Step up Dave Thomas, not content with rifle and machine gun fire, he was throwing in grenades sounds, 66's, the lot. He scared the shit out of the DS, who thought he had thrown a track or something. He could have worked at Pinewood studios as a one man sound effects crew.

Mike Short scared the shit out of one DS guy (unlike most, he wasn't rebadged infantry) during a field exercise when he was told to 'look after' two 'prisoners' after a mock ambush.Out pops Micks ' prisoner care kit' and two mins later these guys are bagged and tagged, trussed up like chickens, complete with new headgear. The DS guy almost shat himself.

AMT 46 : Aug - Nov 1985

Some of the funniest guys I've ever met are on this photo. A few never thought they were being funny, but it was all relative.

AMT Battle PT

Thats me at the top of the pole, ably supported by Mark Probert, Dave Shore and [unknown]. You'd need a crane to get me up there now.

AMT 1st 'sewer' run

I never really got what this was all about, but it did keep the washing machines busy. I'm laughing because someone had stuck a 'kiss me quick' sticker on the back of Dave Shore's shirt.

AMT 2nd 'sewer' run

These really did set the day up nicely, here we can be seen shouting for the DS to do get a move on and keep up.
